Description:
Marathon Petroleum Corporation (MPC) is offering a hands-on internship/co-op program in Midstream Logistics and Storage for high-performing students pursuing Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering degrees. The program provides exposure to MPC’s integrated operations, including pipelines, terminals, and marine transportation, and is designed to develop future technical and leadership talent.
Interns/co-ops will work alongside experienced professionals on diverse projects that span the Marathon Project Management Process (MPMP): Conceptual, Feasibility, Definition, Implementation, and Start-up/Close-out phases.
Develop project scope and provide engineering oversight.
Conduct technical design and cost estimating for projects.
Assist in schedule development and evaluate bid sets.
Supervise construction activities and ensure safety leadership.
Coordinate with operations groups and manage project documentation.
Travel to construction sites (15-45% as required).
Participate in multiple work sessions, rotating across L&S components to gain comprehensive exposure.
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
Strong academic performance.
Eligible to work full-time in the U.S. without visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Availability to work 40 hours/week, with preference for multiple work terms.
Valid driver’s license required due to travel requirements.
Military experience is a plus.
Competitive hourly pay: $32.92 – $41.67.
