Engineering Manager

Description:

Collectors is a leading technology company focused on providing value-added services for collectors worldwide. The company specializes in grading, authenticating, vaulting, and selling collectibles, including coins, trading cards, Funko Pops!, video games, event tickets, autographs, and memorabilia. The Staff Manager, Software Engineering will lead and mentor a team of software engineers, ensuring high-quality software delivery, scalable architecture, and a collaborative engineering culture. This role reports to the Director of Software Engineering and involves partnering with product, design, and cross-functional teams. Remote and hybrid candidates are considered, but those within a 1-hour commute to a company office may be required onsite most of the time.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers in a collaborative, inclusive environment.

• Oversee the full software development lifecycle: architecture, code reviews, and release management.

• Partner with Product, Design, and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

• Troubleshoot complex issues in production applications and provide hands-on technical guidance as needed.

• Promote engineering best practices, continuous learning, agile methodologies, and high standards for code quality and documentation.

• Champion company policies, contribute to positive culture, and identify opportunities for process improvement.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Proven experience as an engineering manager or technical lead with successful project delivery and team growth.

• 7+ years experience with cloud-based applications, modern API development, scalable systems, and large, high-availability systems.

• Strong proficiency in back-end development with Python and Java.

• Deep technical background, capable of guiding architecture decisions, code quality standards, and system design.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration across engineering, product, and business teams.

• Passion for mentoring engineers and supporting continuous learning and growth.

Salary & Benefits:

• Base Salary: $170,000 - $275,000 annually ($14,166 - $22,916 per month).
