Description:

  • You will be responsible for functional checks, tests and inspection, and material condition assessment of major systems.
  • You will provide immediate technical assistance on urgent mission degrading issues affecting major systems frequently beyond the reach of assistance/guidance.
  • You will provide technical assistance on less urgent but still complex technical problems beyond the capability of forces afloat, or repair activities to diagnose and correct.
  • You will provide technical engineering guidance to Regional Maintenance Centers and Shipyards in resolution of repair/ overhaul or test/ grooming problems beyond their level of in-house engineering expertise.
  • You will be responsible for functional checks, tests and inspection, and material condition assessment of electrical/electronic hydraulic major systems (e.g. HM and E hydraulic system motor controllers, deck machinery systems, networking, etc.)
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Experience evaluating and assessing technical engineering designs of electrical systems and subsystems (e.g. hydraulic systems, piping systems) to identify, develop, and recommend solutions for interrelated problems and issues in support of the repair, overhaul and modification of naval ships systems.
