Equipment Operator

Description:

Clean Harbors in Salt Lake City, UT, is seeking a Class A CDL Equipment Operator / Truck Driver to operate a variety of heavy and light-duty trucks and work equipment, including vacuum trucks, Cuscos, guzzlers, and roll-offs. The role involves driving and non-driving duties on and off customer sites related to hazardous waste cleanup.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prioritize health and safety by following all safe work practices, policies, and processes.

• Operate a variety of Class A commercial trucks and assist field laborers as part of a collaborative team.

• Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.

• Perform manual labor onsite to meet customer requirements.

• Ensure proper placarding of vehicles to comply with Company and DOT regulations.

• Maintain daily logs, timesheets, and various reports.

• Comply with all local, state, provincial, and federal regulations.

• Operate vehicles safely according to U.S. DOT, state, and company standards.

• Observe all environmental health and safety procedures.

• Participate in on-call emergency response on a rotating schedule every other week.

• Engage in site remediation, equipment decontamination, and hazardous material handling as required.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Valid Class A CDL license, unrestricted.

• Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.

• Hazmat and Tanker endorsements required.

• Ability to use various mobile devices.

• Meet physical job requirements.

• Successful completion of background check, drug test, and physical exam.

• Compliance with OSHA Respiratory Protection facial hair standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous commercial driving experience.

• Previous experience with hazardous materials.

• Prior manual labor experience.

Additional Information:

• New hires must attend a two-week out-of-state Academy training, which is paid and expenses covered by the company.

• On-call schedule every other week.
