Event Manager

Description:

Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation (DCWAF), a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to raising funds for children in need in Northwest Florida, is seeking a motivated and experienced Wine Auction & Events Manager. This role will oversee the planning, execution, and fulfillment of wine auctions, tastings, dinners, and related events. The ideal candidate will combine expertise in event management, vendor coordination, and wine industry knowledge to deliver world-class experiences that support the foundation’s mission.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, coordinate, and execute wine auctions, tastings, dinners, and other fundraising events with high standards of quality and organization.

• Manage vendor recruitment and relationships, ensuring budget compliance and logistical success.

• Oversee the hiring and supervision of event staff.

• Track and manage wine donations, procurement, and inventory storage.

• Collaborate with distributors and donors to secure wine donations.

• Develop creative auction lots and write engaging descriptions; manage catalog production using software such as GiveSmart.

• Recruit wineries, maintain records of participation, and communicate with industry stakeholders.

• Organize educational wine events and conduct staff training sessions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required.

• 3-5 years of relevant experience in event planning or wine-related roles.

• Experience with inventory systems and distributor relationships is preferred.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management.

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

• Knowledge of wine sourcing and procurement; certifications in wine (e.g., WSET) are a plus.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work flexible hours including evenings and weekends during events.
