Executive Creative Director

 

Description:

We are a growing, independent creative and media agency focused on high-growth challenger brands. We use behavioral science and bold creativity to make brands irresistible - crafting the brands people crave and building them into the brands people choose. We are a challenger agency building a modern, agile, and AI-enabled creative engine, and we need an Executive Creative Director to lead our next evolution.

This is not a maintenance role. You will raise our creative standard from day one, build bold platforms for our clients, strengthen our pitch output, and scale our creative team. You must have high taste, strong business instincts, and the ability to turn strategy into commercially useful, behavior-changing work.

Responsibilities:

  • Raise the Bar: Define what "great" looks like. Improve the craft, taste level, and strategic relevance of our output without ego or chaos.
  • Lead the Room: Act as the senior creative lead for key accounts, building trust and helping clients take bigger, smarter creative swings.
  • Modernize the Process: Partner seamlessly with Strategy, Media, and Operations to make the work sharper, faster, and highly integrated.
  • Build the Engine: Manage the core team, champion a flexible talent model of specialized freelancers, and deeply embed AI into our creative workflows to elevate quality and speed.
  • Drive Growth: Own the creative leadership for new business pitches and help shape the agency's own brand and market presence.

Qualifications:

  • Proof over Pedigree: A portfolio of distinctive, business-moving work, regardless of whether you come from a traditional agency, challenger shop, or brand-side team.
  • Challenger Instinct: The ability to help brands punch above their weight. (Experience in CPG, food/beverage, spirits, or indulgence categories is a strong plus).
  • AI Fluency: Practical, applied experience using AI to speed up prototyping, iteration, and exploration while raising the standard of craft.
  • Player/Coach Mentality: The willingness to "make" right now (concept, write, direct), and the leadership skills to guide a team of makers as we scale.
  • Business Acumen: Strong client-facing presence with the ability to connect creative ideas directly to measurable business growth.
  • Modern Leadership: A collaborative, high-standard, and low-ego approach to team and client management.
