Facilities Team Leader

Residential Services at the University of Southampton offer accommodation to over 6000 students. To enhance and maintain the service offered to our diverse customers, we are recruiting to a Facilities Team Leader role to help lead the team at our Glen Eyre Halls of Residence. The role is an excellent platform into a career in management, providing opportunities for personal and professional development.

The role will involve supervising a small team of domestic assistants to maintain and enhance the hygiene and cleanliness of a designated area of the site, ensuring that the highest standards of service are provided to our students. Some of the duties will include day-to-day management of your team’s cleaning tasks, completing cleaning and health & safety inspections, undertaking regular stock checks of cleaning equipment, and providing training to new and existing staff. You should also be willing to undertake some manual handling, bending, and reaching as part of your normal duties.

The successful candidate will have a flexible and enthusiastic approach to work, be comfortable leading a diverse team, and enjoy collaborating with colleagues to proactively find solutions. Written and verbal communication skills, as well as attention to detail are essential, as this is a customer focused environment where we strive to provide the best service to our residents. Previous experience using computer software packages is also essential.

The work pattern for this post is for 36 hours per week Monday to Friday 08:30-16:30, on a salary of £19,209 per annum. Some weekend working will be required in the summer for open days, student arrivals and departure periods.
