Bibhu Mohapatra, a renowned New York-based luxury womenswear fashion house known for its exquisite couture and ready-to-wear collections, is offering a Fashion Design Internship for 2025. This opportunity is ideal for fashion design students seeking immersive, hands-on experience in a high-end New York City atelier.

Interns will gain exposure to real-world fashion design and production processes while contributing meaningfully to both the pre- and post-New York Fashion Week (NYFW) stages. The role offers valuable insights into the operational and creative workflows of a prestigious fashion brand.

Key Responsibilities:

• Source fabrics, trims, and embroidery materials

• Assist in pattern making and garment cutting

• Support the design team in creating embroidery layouts and style tech packs

• Issue fabrics, embroideries, prints, and related documents to mills and factories

• Assist with daily design and production operations, including pickups and drop-offs

• Collaborate with the team during NYFW preparation and follow-up phases

Requirements:

• Strong background in fashion design, technical design, or production

• Must have pattern making and garment construction knowledge

• Familiarity with different fabrics and trims

• Prior experience working at a fashion brand is preferred

• Minimum 20 hours per week commitment; must be available for at least 2 days/week

• Highly organized, efficient, and a strong communicator

• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and eagerness to learn

• Internship is unpaid, but academic credit is available
