Field Mechanic

Description:

United Rentals, the world’s largest equipment rental provider, invites skilled individuals to join their team as a Field Diesel Mechanic – Customer Equipment Solutions (Service Tech III - Field Service - CES). This position involves performing maintenance and repairs on complex, customer-owned equipment with limited or no supervision, emphasizing safety, professionalism, and high skill.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform safe maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of customer equipment and tools.

• Exercise a high degree of independent judgment to ensure quality and safety in repairs.

• Maintain accurate and timely paperwork or electronic documentation (work orders) of work performed daily.

• Upsell and demonstrate a wide range of complex equipment to customers.

• Travel to customer job sites to repair and maintain equipment; maintain the service vehicle in a clean and professional condition.

• Assist with equipment and parts pick-up and delivery.

• Perform other assigned duties as needed.

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent.

• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in equipment and tool repair and maintenance.

• Advanced mechanical aptitude and strong working knowledge of relevant tools.

• Knowledge of construction equipment and mechanical understanding of various engines.

• Ownership of tools applicable to the position.

• Excellent customer service skills, teamwork, and verbal/written communication abilities.

• Ability to frequently lift items weighing up to 45 lbs.

• This position is Safety Sensitive as per United Rentals’ policies.
