Field Operations Coordinator

 

Description:

CHOICE Humanitarian, a nonprofit dedicated to reducing global poverty through sustainable, community-led development, is seeking a Field Operations Coordinator (FOC) to support and strengthen operational excellence across its country programs. Based in Draper, UT (hybrid), the FOC will serve as a vital link between the Central Office and 3–4 assigned country teams, including Bolivia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Kenya, Mexico, Nepal, and Peru. This dynamic role will be responsible for ensuring operational alignment, financial oversight, effective project implementation, and cross-cultural coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

Country Team Support

  • Act as the primary liaison for assigned country teams and Country Directors.

  • Translate organizational strategy into localized action plans and elevate field insights.

  • Lead check-ins and weekly coordination meetings with country teams.

  • Facilitate cross-functional communication between Central Office and the field.

  • Organize periodic field visits for training, support, and evaluation.

Financial Planning & Oversight

  • Guide country teams in maintaining accurate 4-month rolling financial forecasts.

  • Review monthly financials and coordinate fund transfers in partnership with the Accounting Manager.

  • Assist in preparing annual country budgets and aligning with finance policies.

  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams on contracts and local policy compliance.

Project Support & Systems

  • Oversee project approval workflows and ensure quality submissions.

  • Monitor documentation, provide feedback, and conduct trainings on internal systems.

  • Improve system usage and project management processes.

Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E)

  • Support M&E data collection, KPI tracking, and use of organizational frameworks.

  • Facilitate reflection, reporting, and shared learning within field teams.

Capacity Building & Development

  • Identify training needs and provide professional development opportunities.

  • Foster a learning culture through coaching and collaborative forums.

Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Support Central Office activities such as fundraising, marketing, and expeditions.

  • Remain adaptable to evolving roles or functional leadership assignments.

Required Qualifications:

  • Fluency in Spanish (written and spoken).

  • Bachelor’s degree in international development, nonprofit management, or a related field.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in international development or nonprofit operations.

  • Strong skills in budgeting, documentation, data interpretation, and digital collaboration tools.

  • Demonstrated cross-cultural communication and relationship-building abilities.

  • Willingness to travel internationally 2–3 times per year.

  • Team-oriented, adaptable, and self-directed with strong organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field.

  • Experience living/working in Latin America or underserved global communities.

  • Knowledge of M&E frameworks, KPI tracking, and donor reporting.

  • Familiarity with nonprofit finance, HR compliance, and grant management.

  • Experience delivering coaching or training in cross-cultural contexts.

  • Proficiency in CRM/project tools like HubSpot or Monday.com.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary: $50000–$60000 annually (equivalent to $4166–$5000 monthly)
