Description:
ABB, a global leader in electrification and automation technologies, is seeking a Field Service Technician to join its Electrification Smart Power division in the Western Region. In this hands-on, customer-facing role, you’ll perform field service operations that support ABB’s mission to deliver reliable, safe, and innovative energy solutions. This position offers a blend of technical expertise, customer service, and travel, providing the opportunity to make a tangible impact in advancing efficient and sustainable power systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Execute field service work according to ABB’s quality and safety standards.
Perform technical service tasks, identify issues, and conduct analysis through remote or on-site activities.
Collaborate directly with customers to identify opportunities for process improvements and operational enhancements.
Prepare detailed material lists, ensuring all parts and tools are available and meet required quality standards.
Train and mentor fellow field service associates or customers when necessary.
Provide timely updates and maintain open communication regarding project timelines and service progress.
Ensure strong customer satisfaction and retention through professional and effective service delivery.
Qualifications:
Completion of a 2-year technical or electrical program (preferred) and/or relevant military experience.
Proficiency with 3-phase (208/480VAC) power distribution systems, including UPS, PDU, STS, and Panelboards.
Willingness to travel frequently as part of the role.
Prior field service experience or equivalent technical background.
Must hold valid authorization to work in the United States.
Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality.
