Overview:

In support of PNNL’s Operating Model, this position is tasked with delivering leading class business services, simplifying the experience of researchers, and achieving lab-wide impact with technical competence. Both in-house, homegrown business IT systems and the are used to execute the tasks under the position. The position reports to Team Leader, Funding and Agreements, within the Funding Contracts groups in PNNL’s Business Systems Directorate.

Responsible for performing professional financial/accounting activities including the maintenance, control, analysis and development of complex financial/accounting records, reports and systems. Provides business advice and services to management and staff to ensure compliance with applicable federal laws, regulations, policies and good business practices. Responsible for adherence to and communication of business policies and procedures, including training and interpretation for the various organizations supported.

• Supports the review, processing, submission, and securing approvals from the Pacific Northwest Site Office of the $1.3B (FY22) of annual funding, as well as the DOE Work Authorizations from DOE programs.
• Administers PNNL’s DOE direct funding lifecycle, from proposal to project close-out. In FY21, this position supported over +800 active DOE funded projects, and 600+ DOE work authorizations.
• Serves as a key liaison between PNNL, Department of Energy (DOE) Pacific Northwest Site Office (PNSO) and the Consolidated Service Center DOE business support on a variety of funding issues, facilitating resolution of issues, and ensuring compliance with the PNNL prime contract and DOE orders and regulations.
• Executes duties under the purview of this position through a combination of in-house, homegrown PNNL systems and the workflow functionality in the Salesforce Customer Relations Management software.
• Works with various internal customers including PNNL project coordinators, business office, accounts receivable, proposals contracts professional, other subject matter experts, and federal oversight.
