Fleet Technician

Description:

Pepsi Bottling Ventures (PBV), the nation’s largest private bottler and distributor of Pepsi beverages, is seeking a Fleet Technician A to join their North Myrtle Beach, SC team. PBV is jointly owned by Suntory and PepsiCo and operates across multiple states, delivering beloved beverages and creating innovative products for national distribution.

As a Fleet Technician A, you will maintain, repair, and optimize fleet vehicles—including light and heavy trucks, vans, and forklifts—to ensure safe and reliable operations. This role is critical to supporting the logistics and distribution network that delivers PepsiCo products efficiently to customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on all fleet equipment.

• Conduct major and minor repairs on vehicles, forklifts, and other fleet equipment.

• Utilize advanced diagnostic tools to troubleshoot vehicle faults and onboard diagnostic codes.

• Train and assist team members to strengthen the overall maintenance team.

• Handle parts and forklift operations efficiently.

• Perform electrical, HVAC, air, hydraulic, and brake system diagnostics and repairs.

• Conduct general vehicle diagnostics, welding tasks, and repair of battery-powered industrial equipment.

• Maintain attention to detail and ensure all maintenance is completed safely and efficiently.

• Operate vehicles safely and meet company driving qualifications.

• Obtain a CDL A license within 6 months of hire (for A tech positions).

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s Degree preferred.

• 5 ASE certifications or 10 years of vehicle maintenance experience.

• Valid Driver’s License; must meet company driving standards.

• Expertise in diagnosing and repairing diesel, gasoline, and propane fuel systems.

• Skilled in air, hydraulic, and electric brake systems, HVAC, electrical systems, and general vehicle diagnostics.

• Basic welding skills and proficient use of maintenance tools and equipment.

• Strong work ethic and ability to perform physically and mentally challenging tasks.

• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.

• Ability to work set hours with occasional adjustments and outdoors year-round.

• Must pass a DOT physical prior to 90 days of employment.
