WHO WE ARE: Generation Teach is committed to ending racial injustice and inequity in education. Our mission is to co-create loving communities where generations of students, teachers, and leaders learn, grow, and develop. We offer AmeriCorps Leadership Residency for educators seeking to grow and develop as leaders. Leadership Residents build skills in instructional leadership, people & culture, operations & management, family & community engagement, and justice & equity. WHO YOU ARE: 1. You are looking to connect with others in a loving community, rejuvenate during a challenging time, and regain the passion that inspired you to join the profession 2. You are dedicated to co-creating a loving community and empowering a new generation of teachers committed to ending racial injustice and inequity in education. 3. You are seeking to grow and lead as an anti-racist teacher who co-creates loving communities where all of your students thrive. WHAT YOU WILL DO: 1. Meet virtually on Wednesday evenings in March, April, May, and June. 2. We will prepare you to lead during the 6-week summer practicum. You will lead in-person as an Academic Team Leader or Student Support Team Leader at one of our GT STEAM Academy sites in Boston, Cumberland, Dallas, Denver, Holyoke, Providence, or Worcester. WHAT YOU WILL RECEIVE: 1. AmeriCorps Leadership Residents will receive $8,305.60 in funding, including a living allowance ($6,931) and an AmeriCorps Education Award ($1,374.60). 2. Receive individualized coaching as you strengthen and develop the leadership skills and characteristics of transformational leaders. 3. You will develop relationships with students, colleagues, and leaders that will stay with you for years to come.
