AEIS LLC is seeking a Professional Engineer – Geotechnical Engineering to join their team in Brooklyn, NY. This position plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, innovative geotechnical solutions across a wide range of civil infrastructure projects within the NYC Metro Area.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in soil mechanics, geotechnical analysis, and foundation design. You will be responsible for managing geotechnical projects from investigation through design and construction phases, while ensuring technical excellence, code compliance, and project efficiency. This role requires an individual capable of performing both technical analysis and on-site fieldwork, as well as managing documentation and interdisciplinary coordination.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly skilled and motivated geotechnical engineer with a PE license in both New York and New Jersey to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, and collaborative environment.


Key Responsibilities:

Technical Duties:

  • Conduct geotechnical site investigations, including soil sampling and field testing

  • Supervise and conduct building inspections for code compliance, focusing on:

    • Underpinning

    • Geotechnical drilling (rock coring, test pits, CPTs, SPTs)

    • Deep foundation installations (driven piles, micropiles, helical piles, caissons)

    • Civil and structural integrity

  • Analyze and design foundations, retaining walls, and other geotechnical structures

  • Perform slope stability and excavation safety analyses

  • Conduct settlement analyses and evaluate soil-structure interaction

Project Management:

  • Lead geotechnical projects from inception to completion

  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and regulatory bodies

  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and staffing resources

  • Ensure quality and compliance with project objectives and industry standards

Documentation and Quality Control:

  • Prepare detailed technical reports, inspection summaries, and calculations

  • Maintain project documentation and drawings in an organized manner

  • Implement rigorous quality assurance and control procedures


Required Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related discipline

Licenses:

  • Valid Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in both New York and New Jersey

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering

  • Preferred experience in consulting or quality assurance roles

Skills:

  • In-depth understanding of geotechnical principles and soil mechanics

  • Strong foundation design and analysis capabilities

  • Knowledge of NYC/NYS building codes and local regulations

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Proven problem-solving and project leadership abilities

  • Willingness and ability to travel to project sites across the NYC Metro Area
