We are looking for a business-minded experienced compensation professional to join our esteemed global compensation team as a Global Compensation Consultant. Based on compensation market practices and analysis, this role will provide expertise to support decisions related to complex and multifaceted issues facing new businesses. This new role will be a part of our market intelligence team that delivers innovative, market-based compensation recommendations and guidance to the GM business. The ideal candidate will provide innovative solutions and thoughtful guidance to complex compensation issues based on market analysis and research. Responsibilities: Partner with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, and business leaders to consult and manage compensation initiatives involving base, short-term and long-term compensation elements, including sales compensation plans Analyze and model the effectiveness, competitiveness and cost of potential compensation solutions based on market data and best practices Use storytelling to convey innovative compensation solutions to peers and leaders Match complex positions to benchmark jobs and submit data to compensation surveys - requires attention to detail, job matching, market knowledge Provide thoughtful guidance by job evaluation and market data Partner and build effective working relationships with other members of the Global Compensation & Benefits team and the internal HR Community Become an ambassador to the business on GM's compensation philosophy Identify opportunities for designing, managing and implementing global compensation projects Opportunity to pursue certifications and continuing education in compensation Additional Job Description Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in HR, mathematics, economics or related degree 5-7 years of related experience, preferably in the high-tech industry Experience developing compensation packages including long-term incentive plans Must be comfortable with complex data and able to analyze, interpret, and draw conclusions and develop recommendations Ability to story tell with data Proficient in the English language Proven ability to work independently, take initiative, and work to plan Highly proficient analytical, interpersonal, and process leadership skills Excellent written and verbal communications skills Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel Preferred: Knowledge of high-tech compensation markets Advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications Experience with Workday a plus
