Description:
CIBC US is seeking a motivated and analytical Analyst or Associate to join its Global Credit Financing (GCF) team in New York. In this role, you will support a multi-billion dollar book of securities financing transactions and play a vital part in managing liquidity, credit, and interest rate risks associated with structured credit products. This is a performance-driven opportunity offering high-impact responsibilities, client engagement, and broad exposure to global financial markets.
You will work within a dynamic and production-focused global team based across Toronto, New York, and London. The position offers strong growth potential for professionals passionate about structured credit, funding strategies, and financial innovation in a collaborative environment.
Drive revenue growth in the NY GCF structured credit financing business across insurance companies, asset managers, and hedge fund clients
Risk-manage structured product financing positions including CLOs, ABS, CMBS, and RMBS
Support and back up senior CLO investment traders and analyze available-for-sale (AFS) and held-to-maturity (HTM) CLO portfolios
Perform deal negotiation and structuring (haircuts, margin terms, term profiles) for optimal risk-return balance
Execute portfolio monitoring strategies and due diligence for new credit financing opportunities
Collaborate closely with sales, risk, treasury, operations, and other internal stakeholders
Support funding transactions for the bank’s USD fixed-income credit portfolio
Contribute to process optimization and system improvements for the US financing platform
Track and communicate market trends and portfolio risk profiles to broader teams
Ensure compliance with all internal governance, regulatory, and reputational risk standards
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, STEM, or a related field
Skills & Experience:
Junior-level experience in structured credit financing (preferred, not required)
Knowledge of CLOs, ABS, CMBS, RMBS, and other credit instruments
Understanding of financing structures: repurchase agreements, total return swaps, etc.
Familiarity with US funding markets and collateral management (asset)
Proficiency in Excel and at least one programming language is required
SIE, Series 7, and Series 63 licenses are preferred or must be obtained after hiring
Strong planning, risk identification, and client relationship skills
Capacity to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced trading floor environment
Comfortable with extended hours and moderate international/domestic travel
Based on an open-concept trading floor with noise and distractions
Standard 40-hour work week with overtime expected
Moderate to frequent travel (domestic and international) may be required
Annual Salary Range: $115000 to $170000
Monthly Equivalent: $9583.33 to $14166.67
Eligible for incentive compensation plans and discretionary bonuses
