Grain Operations Supervisors at The Andersons, Inc. are an integral component of the ag supply chain by leading the day-to-day management of our grain facilities. Our management teams consist of leaders who are committed to establishing and promoting a culture of safety amongst team members across the United States and Canada.. Individuals in these roles also possess key skills of a disciplined safety mindset, hands-on leadership, and overall knowledge of asset management.

Day to Day Responsibilities of Grain Operations Management Trainees include:

  • Motivate, train, develop, and lead team of hourly personnel at facility
  • Partner with merchandising team to coordinate all transportation and maintenance needs for the facility to ensure on-time deliveries
  • Develop knowledge of product quality, quantity, and inventories
  • Establish, promote, and enforce a culture of safety amongst a diverse team
  • Develop leadership skills to provide a base knowledge for future management opportunities

For the Grain Operations Management Trainee program, we are looking for individuals who meet the following requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Engineering, or related field
  • One year of relevant work experience or internships
  • Fluent in English, knowledge of second language is a plus
  • Willingness to travel and flexibility to relocate
  • Demonstrate leadership ability and ability to influence others
  • Self-starter who is highly motivated with the ability to develop creative solutions
  • Able to work independently and in a team environment
  • Experience in customer service and able to proactively identify and resolve issues
  • Excellent written and verbal skills and detail-oriented in the areas that require analysis
