The purpose of the position is to provide creative solutions and implementation to all areas of the SC Johnson College of Business Marketing and Communication team. As a member of the creative team this role provides support ranging from implementation of unique designs, messaging, brand awareness, brand implementation, ad campaigns, web visual support, photographic direction and unification as the student journey moves from awareness, application, student, and finally, entering into the alumni family.


This role will report directly to the Creative Director but work collaboratively with a diverse team. This includes areas of: alumni affairs, web and analytics, communication, email marketing, project management, social media as well as executive marketing program managers.


Position responsibilities include:

  • Ability to understand the “bigger picture” in a creative way, keeping in mind the mission and strategic goals of the department, unit and University; properly analyze, assess and respond to client needs.
  • Support the design and production of digital assets including online/mobile graphics, emails, static banner ads (animated motion graphics a plus!)
  • Strong conceptual and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent ability to explain and support your thinking
  • Deliver assets on deadline and communicate any issues far in advance to allow for problem-solving without causing fire-drills
  • Contribute stellar design skills with creative, timely, and bold concepts for marketing and branding projects with a keen eye for a simple, strong design
  • Develop and execute creative concepts and designs that meet brand guidelines. Update brand guidelines as they evolve.
  • Have a conscious approach to align design, visuals and message across all mediums, campaign efforts, and in alignment with the brand
  • Create mood boards, storyboards and visual concepts for campaigns, that may include digital ads, video assistance and social media needs
  • Create digital mock-ups and presentations as part of the MarComm team and effectively communicate to all stakeholders.
  • Expert knowledge of print and digital production and optimizing final files for delivery
  • Partner closely with all teams to identify problems and translate them into creative solutions that drive admissions metrics.
  • Create new design and photo concepts, maintaining a unified look across print and web pieces.
  • Collaborate with the Creative Director to develop new image concepts and assist in the direction of photo shoots as needed.
  • Ability to work in a face paced environment with changing needs.
