Grassroots Coordinator

Description:

Engine is looking for a passionate Grassroots Coordinator/Manager to join our small but dynamic team. This person will play a key role in supporting and executing Engine’s startup grassroots engagement strategy. The position involves collaborating closely with Engine’s policy team to grow and coordinate a nationwide network of startups, advocating for their needs, and maintaining a robust database of startup and policy information. This role is ideal for someone interested in the intersection of technology, entrepreneurship, and public policy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordination: Work closely with the policy team to grow and maintain Engine's nationwide startup network.

• Research & Outreach: Identify and engage with startup ecosystems across the U.S. to find entrepreneurs and investors, document their stories, and expand the database of information.

• #StartupsEverywhere Initiative: Lead the initiative by writing and publishing profiles of diverse startups across the U.S. while addressing policy challenges startups face.

• Programming & Communications: Contribute to and support various startup-facing initiatives including policy education, advocacy events, surveys, and calls to action.

• Advocacy Event Execution: Support the execution of Congressional Startup Day, a key annual event where startups meet with U.S. Congress members.

Qualifications:

• Interest in Technology & Policy: A strong interest in or experience with the intersection of technology, entrepreneurship, and public policy.

• Grassroots Organizing: Experience or strong interest in grassroots advocacy, organizing, and mobilization.

• Networking Skills: Familiarity or eagerness to learn about the startup ecosystem, including startups, investors, and ecosystem support organizations.

• Writing Skills: Ability to communicate complex policy issues in a clear and concise manner, tailored for busy startup CEOs.

• Organizational Ability: Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage systems for tracking and coordinating outreach with a large network of stakeholders.

• Team-Oriented: Willingness to support ongoing projects and collaborate across the Engine team.

Work Conditions:

• Location: Washington, D.C.

• Hybrid Schedule: 3 days per week in-office

• Salary: $60,000 - $75,000 (based on experience)
