Responsibilities
 

  • Provides friendly and engaged guest care at all times.
  • Hires, trains, evaluates and communicates with all Grocery, Dairy, Self-Service Deli and Frozen crew members including counseling and administering discipline when needed.
  • Coaches and cross-trains crew members to encourage their management development in preparation for future promotional opportunities.
  • Writes daily plans and weekly work schedules that anticipate the needs of the business.
  • Actively participates in all phases of grocery stocking. Responsible for the maintenance of displays that ensures our products meet our freshness guarantee at all times.
  • Actively participates in all phases of checking. Handles all forms of tender including cash, checks, WIC, food stamps, gift cards, EBT transactions and coupons.
  • Assumes responsibility for entire store operation in absence of the Store Director and Assistant Store Director including troubleshooting complaints, product inquiries and other special requests.
  • Manages loss prevention efforts within the department in order to ensure a safe shopping experience and workplace.
  • Works towards acquiring product knowledge and expertise within department(s) in order to respond to guest questions and provide informative information about merchandise.
  • Responsible for rotation of merchandise and maintenance of displays ensuring our products meet our freshness guarantee at all times.
  • Maintains accurate records for damaged/spoiled merchandise in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Stays updated on weekly specials, coupons and other company promotions that encourage an environment that delights our guests.
  • Works in and cultivates a team oriented work environment.
  • Store is open seven days a week and may require weekend, holiday and shift work.
     

Qualifications:
 

  • Passion for serving people and creating a guest focused work environment.
  • 1-2 years of department operations experience or equivalent education to be knowledgeable of the nature of every position within the department.

  • Math skills necessary, but not limited to following recipes, completing reports and calculating sales and discounts.
  • Ability to work in wet environment in order to clean and sanitize tools, pots/pans and utensils using cleaning chemicals and detergents without allergic reaction.
  • Ability to work around food ingredients, produce and spices without allergic reaction.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with guests and crew members in professional and courteous manner. This includes answering telephone calls and using in-store intercom system.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age due to equipment use and work environment.
  • Current state Food Handler’s Permit may be required. Work Environment:
