Description:
A Group Account Supervisor (GAS) represents the agency as a key strategic partner—often acting in an Agency of Record (AOR) capacity. As a GAS, you are viewed by the client as an embedded team member who deeply understands their business and consistently brings proactive, high-value thinking to the table. You are a strategic leader with a strong foundation in digital healthcare marketing, with the ability to drive cross-functional collaboration, inspire teams, and grow business partnerships.
In addition, a GAS must have a strong grasp of the agency’s full suite of services—particularly digital strategy, engagement, and innovation—and make insightful recommendations that support our clients’ goals and elevate our offerings.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to understand and grow business. Manages $2-4M in business
- Proactively and regularly make strategic recommendations to clients (i.e. positioning, branding, etc.)
- Develop and implement marketing communications strategy, plans and programs to support day-to-day account activity and long-term business objectives
- Partner and develop collaborative relationship with inter-agency departments, as well as external cross-functional agency partners
- Effectively communicate direction to the creative team and provide valuable feedback to ensure client expectations are met
- Coach, mentor and supervise team; demonstrate strong leadership, provide direction and professional development
- Efficiently develop and manage client budgets. Understand where spending is always and have a plan in place to meet spending goals with best profitability
- Regularly contributes to the growth of the agency’s business
- Proactively provide manager (Group/SVP) with regular updates on the state of business, opportunities and/or concerns
- Regularly surface organic business opportunities generating additional income opportunities within the assigned accounts
- Participate in partnership with SVP/EVP and strategic planner on new business pitches from to facilitate smooth, efficient process from strategy to presentation
About You:
- Minimum 8 years of experience in advertising, with at least 6 years in pharmaceutical/healthcare communications.
- Demonstrated expertise in digital marketing channels, platforms, and trends—you bring digital-first thinking to client conversations and campaign strategies.
- Strong and confident leader who sees the big picture, builds morale, solves problems, and ensures executional excellence.
- Business-savvy, highly accountable, and entrepreneurial; able to balance client advocacy with agency priorities.
- Strong communication skills across all formats (verbal, written, presentation), with an ability to distill complex information clearly and persuasively.
- Effective delegator, collaborator, and decision-maker who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Proactive, emotionally intelligent, and adaptable—able to build trust, inspire teams, and lead through ambiguity.
