Description:

Airbus is seeking a highly accomplished and visionary Head of Sales & Marketing to lead global sales and business development for its Flexrotor unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) product line. Based in Bingen, WA, this strategic leadership role involves managing a global sales network, achieving ambitious revenue targets, shaping marketing strategies, and contributing to the future roadmap of cutting-edge UAS technologies.

The Head of Sales & Marketing will collaborate closely with Airbus Helicopters’ marketing and communication teams, oversee proposal development, lead a growing sales team, and engage in strategic planning initiatives with global customers.


Key Responsibilities

Sales Leadership (50%)

  • Direct and manage regional sales teams to meet or exceed annual booking and revenue goals.

  • Actively manage the sales funnel, from lead generation to closure, ensuring target margins are achieved.

  • Build and nurture strong customer relationships through proactive engagement and site visits.

  • Negotiate and communicate customer requirements effectively with internal teams to ensure successful delivery.

  • Develop and execute sales and demonstration programs to expand UAS sales opportunities.

  • Provide accurate bookings forecasts to inform strategic decisions.

Business Development & Team Management (20%)

  • Establish performance guidelines, oversee departmental plans, and manage budgets.

  • Motivate, mentor, and develop sales teams to achieve individual and departmental objectives.

  • Coordinate with Airbus US Space and Defense and leverage global UAS champion networks.

Marketing Strategy (20%)

  • Plan and implement marketing campaigns in collaboration with Airbus Helicopters' marketing team.

  • Develop promotional materials, manage trade show participation, and represent the Flexrotor brand in key industry events.

  • Contribute market intelligence to inform product roadmap development.

Metrics, Reporting & Analysis (10%)

  • Maintain accurate CRM data for all sales activities.

  • Prepare detailed performance reports and present strategic recommendations to senior leadership.


Qualifications

  • Education:

    • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Management, or equivalent

    • Preferred: Master’s in Business or Finance

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 10 years in aviation industry marketing/sales

    • UAS sales and/or operations experience preferred

  • Skills:

    • Proven management skills and strong business ethics

    • Expertise in finance and business operations (preferred)

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM tools (Salesforce), and Adobe Suite (preferred)

  • Other Requirements:

    • U.S. Citizen or U.S. Person

    • 40% travel (domestic and international)

    • Ability to manage a team (5 exempt, 1 non-exempt direct reports)

Working Conditions

  • Hybrid role with at least 30% onsite presence required

  • Physical requirements include lifting up to 30 lbs, walking, standing during trade shows, and ability to travel at short notice
