Human Resource Development Program Trainee

 

Description:

This role is designed to further the development of the individual's HR education, knowledge, and experience by supporting a diverse range of HR processes and procedures and assisting the Plant HR Manager and production team.

The Human Resource Development Program Trainee should:

  • Have a high level of emotional intelligence with strong interpersonal skills
  • Be very detail-oriented and comfortable working with a lot of data
  • Be able to come up with new ideas and solutions and implement them
  • Have a strong desire to work in the HR function and grow and develop within a manufacturing environment

Activities and Experiences:

  • Deep dives with focus groups to solve issues
  • Departmental job shadow and rotations
  • Grievance process/meetings
  • Labor Management meetings
  • Annual compensation cycle
  • Talent and succession planning
  • Learning & Development
  • HR Operations

Taught and then owns or coordinates:

  • Job postings process
  • Open enrollment
  • Quarterly plant wide meetings
  • Recruiting activities such as scheduling and coordinating interviews
  • New hire orientation and onboarding
  • Coordination of Apprenticeship testing
  • Engagement survey

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, or other related field
  • Internship in Human Resources, or co-op experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred
  • Ability to work outside of regular business hours as needed
  • Willingness to relocate for future opportunities
