Description:
This role is designed to further the development of the individual's HR education, knowledge, and experience by supporting a diverse range of HR processes and procedures and assisting the Plant HR Manager and production team.
The Human Resource Development Program Trainee should:
- Have a high level of emotional intelligence with strong interpersonal skills
- Be very detail-oriented and comfortable working with a lot of data
- Be able to come up with new ideas and solutions and implement them
- Have a strong desire to work in the HR function and grow and develop within a manufacturing environment
Activities and Experiences:
- Deep dives with focus groups to solve issues
- Departmental job shadow and rotations
- Grievance process/meetings
- Labor Management meetings
- Annual compensation cycle
- Talent and succession planning
- Learning & Development
- HR Operations
Taught and then owns or coordinates:
- Job postings process
- Open enrollment
- Quarterly plant wide meetings
- Recruiting activities such as scheduling and coordinating interviews
- New hire orientation and onboarding
- Coordination of Apprenticeship testing
- Engagement survey
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, or other related field
- Internship in Human Resources, or co-op experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred
- Ability to work outside of regular business hours as needed
- Willingness to relocate for future opportunities
