Industrial Maintenance Technician

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a highly skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician (5th Shift) to join its team at the Martinsburg, WV facility. This role is ideal for an experienced maintenance professional who is passionate about ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of industrial equipment and systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The selected candidate will be responsible for performing both scheduled and emergency maintenance on manufacturing machinery, ensuring optimal functionality and minimal downtime. The technician will diagnose issues involving hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems, including PLCs, and will play a key role in maintaining production and facility equipment. This position requires a combination of technical skill, problem-solving ability, and hands-on mechanical aptitude.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine, preventive, and emergency maintenance on manufacturing equipment.

• Diagnose and repair issues related to mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components.

• Maintain and troubleshoot PLC-controlled systems.

• Operate and maintain motorized equipment such as forklifts and manlifts.

• Identify and order replacement parts as necessary, coordinating with MRO and purchasing teams.

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and parts inventory.

• Perform welding and metal fabrication tasks when required.

• Conduct safety inspections and comply with safety standards in all operations.

• Provide training and mentorship to other maintenance and plant associates.

• Respond promptly to on-call maintenance emergencies.

• Participate actively in all plant safety programs and attend required meetings.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience, including 1 year in mechanical/electrical maintenance.

• Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance scheduling and implementation.

• Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and electrical diagnostic equipment.

• Basic understanding of carpentry and tooling.

• Physically capable of lifting up to 86 lbs (team lift up to 100 lbs) and performing duties that require walking, standing, bending, and twisting.

• Must pass colorblindness test and have correctable vision and hearing.

• Skilled in troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical systems.

• Experience with high-voltage equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems.

• Safe and responsible work performance required at all times.

Work Environment:

• Manufacturing plant setting with exposure to noise, temperature variations, and dust.

• Regular interaction with high-voltage equipment and moving machinery.

• Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, and hearing protection.

Tools & Equipment Used:

Amp probe, hand tools, fork lift, O-scope, power tools, OA torch, plasma cutter, soldering iron, volt meter, utility knife, and grinders.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Pay: $29–$34.80/hour + $1.15/hour shift differential.

• Pay Schedule: Weekly pay with on-demand access.
