Description:

Red River is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join its team at Scott Air Force Base, supporting the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). The role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data infrastructure and pipelines to manage both structured and unstructured data across the enterprise. This position requires deep expertise in data engineering, advanced problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced and mission-critical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes to support integration and analytics needs.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists and analysts, to deliver high-quality data solutions.

• Implement robust data models, schemas, and database structures for efficient storage and retrieval.

• Optimize and tune workflows for performance, scalability, and reliability.

• Develop and maintain thorough documentation for engineering processes and workflows.

• Proactively monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve data pipeline issues to minimize operational disruptions.

• Support the integration of test use cases.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.

• 10+ years of experience in data engineering, warehousing, or similar roles.

• Active DoD Secret Clearance is mandatory.

• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala, and strong expertise in SQL and database technologies (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle).

• Hands-on experience with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

• Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Kibana) and analytics frameworks.

• Knowledge of data governance, quality, and security best practices.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with AI/ML techniques, including model building and deployment.

• Professional certifications such as AWS Certified Data Analytics or Google Professional Data Engineer.
