Reporting to the Museum Registrar, the Installation Manager acts as a primary liaison for staff involved in the management of the Peabody Renovation, ensuring the smooth progress of the installation of the Museum’s 44,000 square feet of new exhibitions. Oversees and coordinates a variety of activities, including planning, scheduling, monitoring, and documenting work around the exhibition installation. Works with YPM staff and contractors on and offsite. Ensures effective communication between all participants and stakeholders in the project.

1. Coordinates the activities of staff involved in the exhibition installation. Maintains the primary calendar for the project, integrating the schedules of the major exhibition project contractors, and ensuring that punch list activities from the Base Building project are accounted for in the installation sequence. Coordinates and schedules project milestones; monitors and liaises with staff as necessary to make certain of timely completion. Horizon scans for potential conflicts and opportunities. 2. Ensures effective communication around exhibition installation activities. Facilitates cross-departmental discussions by planning and running meetings pertaining to the exhibition installation. Defines the agenda, prepares summary documentation, and captures meeting minutes. Provides regular updates on deadlines and deliverables. Liaises between YPM staff and contractors, keeping all parties informed of updates and changes. 3. Tracks key elements of the installation process, including deliveries to and through the Museum loading dock, movement of specimens and mounts, and status of supplies and other materials. Identifies, tracks, and resolves emerging problems. 4. Liaises with wider museum and project stakeholders. Documents installation progress and provides regular summaries to the Communications & Marketing department and directly to Museum staff and curators via email updates and presentations. Coordinates scheduled walkthrough tours for staff and other stakeholders. 5. Monitors exhibition projects that are not within the scope of external contractors and coordinates activities as necessary. Other duties as assigned.
