Installation Technician

Description:

Flock Safety is a technology company dedicated to eliminating crime and keeping communities safe through intelligent, full-service, maintenance-free public safety solutions. The Installation Technician role is part of the Field Operations team, responsible for installing and maintaining Flock devices, including poles, solar panels, external batteries, and license-plate reading cameras with PTZ technology. Technicians serve as the face of Flock Safety, interacting with customers and ensuring installations meet high-quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install poles of varying lengths, digging a minimum of 8” x 36” holes.

• Mount solar panels on poles and attach external batteries.

• Affix license-plate reading cameras with Pan, Tilt, Zoom (PTZ) capabilities to poles.

• Work on both public and private roads, often on equipment 10-12’ high; use bucket trucks or ladders up to 30’ high.

• Repair minor breaks in underground irrigation or private wiring.

• Provide installation pictures via the Flock field app.

• Perform administrative tasks, including inventory management and receiving product shipments.

• Interpret traffic control plans and permit drawings for proper device placement.

• Maintain safety and professionalism at all times and communicate effectively with customers.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Prior field experience preferred: construction, security systems, low voltage wiring, or similar.

• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and on ladders at high heights.

• Handyman skills, including use of power tools and operating vehicles such as work vans and 1-ton pickup trucks.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, dig, climb, squat, sit, stand, walk, and drive frequently.

• Basic computer skills, including Office Suite, Google Suite, and email.

• Good time-management, organizational, and communication skills.

• Must be at least 21 years old to meet company vehicle insurance requirements.

Travel & Availability:

• Work hours: Monday-Friday, daylight hours; occasional overtime required.

• Travel up to 3 hours regularly; occasionally up to 8 hours with overnight accommodations provided.
