Instructional Designer

 

Description:

Akkodis, a global leader in technology and engineering solutions, is seeking an Instructional Designer for a 6+ month contract with a client in Phoenix, AZ. This role focuses on improving and enhancing technical, Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), and compliance training programs within the Aerospace industry. The Instructional Designer will collaborate closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) to update training content, align materials with Aerospace-specific standards, and design engaging learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Course Evaluation & Analysis

  • Assess existing technical, HSE, and compliance training courses for instructional quality.

  • Collaborate with SMEs to revise outdated content and remove obsolete references.

Content Development & Enhancement

  • Update training materials, presentations, manuals, e-learning modules, and assessments.

  • Develop interactive, engaging learning activities tailored to training objectives.

Instructional Design & Strategy

  • Apply instructional design models (ADDIE, SAM, or similar) to create impactful learning solutions.

  • Revise assessments to meet Aerospace standards and eliminate reliance on outdated frameworks.

Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement

  • Implement QA checks to ensure compliance with Aerospace learning standards.

  • Collect feedback from learners and SMEs to drive continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong experience in instructional design and training program development.

  • Proficiency with LMS platforms and e-learning authoring tools.

  • In-depth knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.

  • Ability to assess training needs and evaluate program effectiveness.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in instructional design or similar role.

  • Project management skills with ability to handle multiple priorities.

  • Creative and innovative approach to developing learning experiences.

  • Familiarity with emerging instructional technologies and trends.

Compliance Requirements:
This role involves access to technologies regulated under ITAR/EAR. Candidates must qualify as U.S. Persons (citizens, permanent residents, or certain protected categories), or secure an appropriate export license.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Pay: $45/hr – $50/hr (approx. $7200 – $8000/month for full-time hours).
