Description:
Genentech, part of the Roche Group, is seeking an Instrumentation Technician (Contractor) to support their Hillsboro Technical Operations (HTO) focusing on Drug Product manufacturing including Component Prep & Compounding, Liquid/Lyophilized Filling, Automated/Manual Inspection, Packaging/Finished Products, and Distribution.
The technician will install, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial instrumentation, control systems, lab equipment, and process automation, ensuring compliance with cGMPs, SOPs, and Genentech standards. This is an on-site role, Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot instrumentation and control systems, including utilities, filling, packaging, and lab equipment.
Support maintenance, operation, and repair of all systems and subsystems within the facility.
Assist engineering and operations with equipment design, installation, testing, and operation.
Evaluate maintenance and calibration practices to enhance productivity and ensure compliance with SOPs.
Ensure equipment remains in validated and designed states, operating according to regulations and Genentech policies.
Maintain inspection readiness, focusing on cleanliness, safety, and cGMP compliance.
Provide recommendations for process improvements, training, and SOP updates.
Perform troubleshooting on electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
Complete preventive maintenance, documentation, diagnostics, and repairs per cGMP guidelines.
Coordinate contractors for equipment repairs, modifications, and installations.
Perform confined space entry as required.
Support and operate software systems for calibration and instrumentation programming, including DeltaV and MES systems.
Qualifications / Requirements:
Technical degree or certification in Instrumentation / Industrial Automation or equivalent.
Knowledge of cGMP compliance, predictive maintenance techniques, industrial process instrumentation, and process control systems.
Ability to read, interpret, and produce engineering documents, P&IDs, SOPs, and schematics.
Hands-on experience with instrumentation maintenance, electrical and mechanical systems, lab equipment, and process automation.
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with CMMS and calibration management programs, preferably SAP PM.
Attention to detail and strong record-keeping practices.
Ability to work safely in environments with hazardous chemicals, high/low temperature liquids, high pressure liquids and gases, and moving machinery.

Contract Duration:
6 months, with possible extensions up to 36 months
Pay:
$36 per hour (depending on experience)
