Description:
Sanford Health, one of the largest and fastest-growing not-for-profit health systems in the United States, is expanding its behavioral health services through the addition of Integrated Health Therapists at the Bismarck Area Clinics. This position provides a unique opportunity to be part of an innovative care model that integrates behavioral health into primary care and specialty services, supporting patients with holistic, patient-centered solutions.
As an Integrated Health Therapist, you will be responsible for providing clinical diagnoses, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, and offering therapeutic interventions to patients facing mental health, behavioral health, chemical health, psychosocial challenges, and lifestyle-related conditions. Therapists in this role work collaboratively with healthcare teams to address both the psychological and medical needs of patients, ensuring a comprehensive approach to health and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct diagnostic and crisis assessments, offering timely interventions and determining levels of ongoing care.
Provide therapeutic counseling using multiple modalities while tailoring approaches to individual patient needs.
Collaborate closely with primary care and specialty providers to address psychosocial and cultural health factors that influence patient care.
Develop and maintain accurate, ethical, and timely clinical documentation to support patient safety and care quality.
Deliver educational resources and make appropriate referrals to additional healthcare or community services.
Serve as a consultant to interdisciplinary teams to enhance understanding of the connection between physical and psychological health.
Provide coverage for diverse populations, including patients with co-morbid medical and behavioral conditions.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related Behavioral Health Science is required (preferably from an accredited institution).
Active state licensure required in North Dakota, depending on role level:
Integrated Health Therapist (IHT): Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Psychologist.
Integrated Health Counselor (IHC): Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Associate Professional Counselor (LAPC).
License must be in good standing in state(s) of practice.
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively in an integrated care environment with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
Schedule & Work Details:
Full-time, 40 hours per week
Day shifts (8-hour shifts)
Based at Sanford’s 5th & Broadway Clinic in Bismarck, ND
