Duties

  • Serve as senior level Office Engineer responsible for District-wide Construction Contract Administration.
  • Provide expert design and/or technical review of engineering features for the most significant, complex, or controversial projects assigned to their section.
  • Provide technical input/oversight of both in-house and Architect- Engineer (A-E) contractor-designed projects for new construction; maintenance/alteration/repair of existing facilities, and for special projects or studies.
  • Support construction operations and contract management with authorities prescribed by the Chief of Construction and the Contracting Officer.

  • NATIONAL AGENCY CHECK WITH WRITTEN INQUIRIES (NACI) - Appointment to this position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment.
  • PROBATIONARY PERIOD - Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • ADMINISTRATIVE CONTRACTING OFFICER - Incumbent must obtain appointment, via Contracting Officer Review Board, as an Administrative Contracting Officer within 6 months of appointment.
  • At GS-12 level, Incumbent must obtain DAWIA contracting certification within 24 months of appointment.
  • At GS-13 level, Incumbent must have DAWIA contracting certification at time of entry.
  • Incumbent is required to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
  • This position may require pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
