Grant Thornton (US) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated International Tax Senior Associate to join its Charlotte, NC office. As an International Tax Senior Associate, you will be responsible for reviewing and delivering international tax services, assisting in identifying and resolving complex tax issues, and collaborating with managers, associates, and global teams to deliver strategic tax solutions. You will also play a vital role in training, mentoring, and supervising junior staff to ensure continued professional growth within the team.
Provide international tax consulting services that deliver measurable value and compliance accuracy.
Advise clients from various industries on international tax matters, planning, and compliance.
Supervise, train, and mentor associates and interns on international tax projects, including performance reviews.
Review complex business tax returns with international components, ensuring accuracy and identifying tax-saving opportunities.
Conduct detailed tax research and analysis on U.S. and international tax issues, utilizing advanced tax software tools.
Draft and review tax memoranda, advice letters, and technical analyses for clients.
Manage client relationships, ensuring exceptional service and communication.
Collaborate with cross-border teams to deliver integrated international tax solutions.
Respond to inquiries from the IRS and other tax authorities.
Support managers with project planning, budgeting, and workflow management.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required).
Minimum of 2 years of tax consulting experience, preferably with a focus on international tax.
CPA or JD/active law license required.
Experience with a large accounting firm, law firm, or corporate tax department of a multinational company.
Strong analytical, technical, and tax accounting skills with proficiency in U.S. tax compliance and consulting.
Excellent supervisory, leadership, and project management capabilities.
Proficient in tax-related software and technology tools.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to travel as needed.
