Charter Brokerage LLC, a Berkshire Hathaway Company, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented International Trade Specialist to join their team in Katy, TX. This role is ideal for professionals passionate about the U.S. Customs import-export field or those eager to build a career in international trade compliance. The position involves reviewing commercial documentation for compliance, ensuring proper U.S. Customs clearance and entry procedures, and preparing export reports for submission to the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Key responsibilities include:

• Reviewing commercial documents to ensure import-export compliance according to U.S. regulations.

• Processing and filing documents for U.S. Customs clearance and entry of goods into the United States.

• Preparing and submitting export documentation and reports for U.S. Department of Commerce requirements.

• Ensuring timely submission of government clearance forms and relevant paperwork.

• Maintaining communication with importers, exporters, and other related stakeholders to resolve queries and ensure smooth processing.

• Identifying and tracking risk areas related to compliance in import and export processes.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and customer-focused, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, a strong work ethic, and a proactive problem-solving mindset are essential. A bachelor’s degree in international trade or a related business field is preferred, though relevant experience will also be considered. Knowledge of ACE, 19 CFR, and HTSUS is advantageous but not mandatory, as training will be provided for motivated candidates.
