Description:

INFICON, a global leader in innovative instrumentation and smart manufacturing solutions, is seeking an experienced Inventory Control Planner for its Syracuse, NY location. This full-time, on-site position is crucial to the company’s logistics and inventory management operations, supporting INFICON’s world-class precision products used across semiconductor, aerospace, automotive, and other high-tech industries.

The Inventory Control Planner will take charge of sustaining inventory accuracy, optimizing material flow, and coordinating between departments to ensure reliable supply chain execution. You will play a vital role in managing inventory systems, leading audits, supporting production scheduling, and training logistics staff, all while maintaining high standards for accuracy and efficiency.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Oversight & Accuracy:
    Conduct cycle counts, physical audits, and inventory reconciliations. Identify and resolve variances, ensure accuracy in material storage, and maintain tight control of stock movement across all stages.

  • Process Management:
    Administer systems like Kanban and manual materials handling. Oversee inventory sustainment activities such as replenishment, material movement, and backlog management.

  • Cross-Functional Coordination:
    Collaborate with operations and logistics teams to troubleshoot discrepancies, assess BOM routing, and streamline scheduling and setup processes.

  • Production Support:
    Manage the production order backlog and ensure timely material readiness to meet manufacturing deadlines.

  • System Utilization & Training:
    Leverage tools like SAP, Kardex, and PPG to maintain efficient inventory tracking. Train logistics attendants and support continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Audit & Compliance:
    Participate in financial audits related to inventory performance and support regulatory and internal compliance standards.


Qualifications:

  • Education:
    High school diploma required; Associate’s degree or vocational/technical/military training preferred. Equivalent company experience (5+ years) may also qualify.

  • Certifications:
    Forklift Certification preferred.

  • Experience:
    Prior experience in inventory control or materials management is essential. Exposure to systems such as SAP, Agile, MS Office, and WMS highly desirable.

  • Skills:

    • Strong organizational and time management abilities

    • Capacity to work independently and in a team environment

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    • Ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy

    • Problem-solving mindset with a proactive attitude


Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.

  • Extensive walking, standing, squatting, and repetitive motions.

  • Visual focus on small details, spreadsheets, and monitors for extended periods.
