NewSpace Technical is seeking a hands-on IoT Systems Engineer to join its innovative team based in Austin, TX. This is a unique opportunity to work in an early-stage startup focused on transforming smart manufacturing through next-generation Industrial IoT (IIoT) systems. The ideal candidate is a systems-oriented engineer with a deep understanding of embedded technologies, network infrastructure, and integrated software environments.

In this on-site, full-time role, you will be immersed in both hardware and software responsibilities — from configuring networks and managing system environments to integrating sensors, flashing firmware, and supporting CI/CD deployments. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the architecture and reliability of smart factory systems from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and configure network infrastructure: routers, firewalls, IoT connectivity.

• Administer Windows and Linux environments; monitor uptime and system performance.

• Support and maintain SQL and NoSQL databases.

• Troubleshoot complex issues across firmware, hardware, and analytics layers.

• Coordinate software deployments using Git and CI/CD pipelines.

• Integrate IoT electronics and perform diagnostics, firmware flashing, and QA testing.

• Document bugs and issues effectively with detailed logs and data outputs.

• Provide technical support during live deployments in collaboration with internal and external teams.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related technical field.

• 3–5+ years of experience in systems/network engineering; IoT experience preferred.

• Strong networking knowledge: TCP/IP, HTTP, REST, MQTT, SSL/TLS, Wi-Fi.

• Proficiency in system administration (Linux and Windows) and command-line tools.

• Familiarity with database management (SQL and NoSQL), system backups, and tuning.

• Experience with Git, CI/CD, debugging multi-layered systems.

• Sensor and electronics integration (BLE, NFC, etc.).

• Must be based in Austin, TX and able to conduct on-site testing.
