It Applications Support Specialist

 

Description:

PRI Technology is currently hiring a Radiology Applications Support Specialist Level 2 for a full-time role with a leading healthcare firm based in Cherry Hill, NJ. This role is a key position in the Radiology IT division, responsible for supporting, maintaining, and optimizing clinical imaging systems like PACS, RIS, and voice recognition software.

The selected candidate will play a vital part in ensuring seamless IT support operations, engaging in workflow analysis, system upgrades, integration projects, and delivering excellent end-user support—all while upholding HIPAA standards and contributing to critical patient care operations.

The position begins as on-site for the first two months, transitioning into a hybrid model (3 days in-office, 2 days remote). U.S. Citizens or Green Card holders are preferred for this opportunity.


Key Responsibilities:

Advanced Application Support:

  • Serve as the primary point of escalation for PACS, RIS, and other radiology systems.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in collaboration with vendors and IT teams.

  • Monitor system health, perform proactive maintenance, and ensure high availability.

  • Participate in system upgrades, patches, and regression testing.

  • Support after-hours critical issues through on-call rotation.

Workflow Optimization & System Integration:

  • Analyze radiology workflows and identify areas for process improvement.

  • Design and implement efficient workflows that align with clinical operations.

  • Support seamless integration with EHR, RIS, and other healthcare platforms.

  • Maintain expertise in DICOM, HL7, and radiology data standards.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Work closely with radiologists, IT staff, and external vendors to deliver solutions.

  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to clinical and technical audiences.

  • Provide regular updates on system issues, fixes, and project deliverables.

Security & Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and internal data security protocols.

  • Manage application access rights and maintain audit integrity.

Knowledge Management & Mentorship:

  • Create and update technical documentation, user guides, and SOPs.

  • Mentor junior support staff and contribute to a collaborative IT culture.

  • Stay informed on best practices, trends, and advancements in Radiology IT.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience supporting PACS, RIS, or radiology IT systems.

  • Deep understanding of DICOM, HL7, radiology workflows, and voice recognition systems.

  • Strong problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills.

  • Familiarity with healthcare IT environments and compliance standards (HIPAA).

  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.

  • Certifications such as CIIP are a plus.

  • Salary: $100,000/year + Bonus (~$8333/month + Bonus)
