The IT Support Technician provides essential end-user support across Appvion’s global infrastructure. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for IT-related issues, ensuring seamless operations by troubleshooting technical problems, configuring hardware and software, and maintaining system security. Success in this position requires a strong technical foundation, customer centric mindset, and the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies while supporting both office and manufacturing environments.

What You’ll Do
 

  • Serve as the first point of contact for all IT-related inquiries, troubleshooting issues via phone, email, and in person.
  • Prioritize and resolve IT helpdesk requests efficiently.
  • Configure, deploy, and support hardware, including laptops, desktops, telephones, and tablets.
  • Manage user accounts across various platforms including Active Directory (AD) and Office 365.
  • Administer and maintain File and Print Servers following best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and support local and wide-area networks (LAN, WAN).
  • Monitor IT security risks, escalating concerns as necessary.
  • Work with vendors to troubleshoot and resolve system and software issues.
  • Ensure software and firmware are updated with the latest security patches.
  • Maintain documentation related to software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with IT staff to troubleshoot network and security issues.
     

What You'll Bring
 

  • Associate’s degree in information technology, computer science or related field.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in IT support or demonstrated technical ability.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Experience with IT ticketing systems (preferably Fresh Service).
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues efficiently.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Willingness to travel to remote sites as needed.
  • Flexibility to work occasional nights and weekends.
