Trinity Health is inviting 2025 Graduate Nurses to join its Jumpstart Med/Surg program in Centerville, IA. This part-time opportunity is designed to help nursing students gain valuable hands-on hospital experience under the guidance of licensed RNs and LPNs, while preparing for a future in professional nursing. Working in the Medical-Surgical unit, graduate nurses will care for patients of all ages, from neonates to geriatrics, across a variety of clinical situations.

This program provides a supportive environment where future nurses can strengthen their clinical, interpersonal, and critical-thinking skills. Key Responsibilities:

• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, feeding, ambulation, and elimination.

• Monitor patient comfort and ensure safety through proper handling and regular rounding.

• Measure and record vital signs, perform bedside glucose testing, and calculate intake/output.

• Prepare patients and treatment areas for procedures, collect and label specimens, and manage clinical equipment setup.

• Document patient information in compliance with hospital policies and promptly report changes in patient condition.

• Provide support in emergency situations, including CPR.

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in an accredited Registered Nursing (RN) program.

• Minimum age requirement: 18 years.

• Completion of Mandatory Reporter training (Child and/or Dependent Adult Abuse) within 3 months of hire.

• American Heart Association BLS Certification required within 6 weeks of hire.
