Kelly Professional & Industrial is seeking a proactive and results-driven Junior Sales / Business Development Representative to join their team in Bolingbrook, Illinois. This role is ideal for a motivated individual looking to establish a strong career in sales within the transportation and logistics sector. The primary focus of this position is to drive new business growth, build lasting client relationships, and support the expansion of the organization’s market presence.

The selected candidate will be responsible for sourcing and generating new sales opportunities through outbound prospecting, cold calling, networking, and strategic market research. You will engage with prospective clients across various transportation modes such as truckload, less-than-truckload, and retail LTL, presenting customized logistics solutions to meet their business needs. Collaboration with internal teams to develop tailored proposals and pricing strategies will be a key aspect of this role.

As part of a hybrid work setup, the role offers a combination of in-office and remote flexibility, along with a competitive base salary plus commission structure that rewards your success in meeting and exceeding sales targets.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively source, identify, and develop new sales leads through cold calling, networking, and market analysis.

  • Build and manage a robust pipeline of prospective clients across multiple logistics channels.

  • Conduct introductory and follow-up meetings with potential clients to assess their transportation needs and offer customized solutions.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to create competitive proposals and develop pricing strategies.

  • Utilize CRM systems to track sales activity, client interactions, and progress toward sales goals.

  • Consistently achieve or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets for new business generation.

  • Provide insights and feedback to sales leadership regarding emerging market trends, competitive landscape, and customer requirements.


Skills and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 0–2 years of experience in a sales or client-facing role (logistics/transportation experience is advantageous).

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Highly motivated and competitive, with a strong hunter mentality.

  • Proficiency in cold calling and engaging prospects via multiple channels (phone, email, in-person).

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; CRM experience is a plus.
