Description:

Xcel Energy is hiring a Key Account Manager to manage the company’s largest retail energy clients, playing a pivotal role in the growth and retention of major industrial and enterprise accounts. The successful candidate will serve as the primary sales leader and full-service energy agent for these clients.

The role includes comprehensive account planning, executive-level relationship building, and delivering custom energy solutions with high-value negotiations. The candidate will lead the development of energy efficiency strategies and coordinate multi-million-dollar energy projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the main point of contact and sales strategist for large industrial clients

  • Develop detailed account plans with forecasts and strategic initiatives

  • Lead complex negotiations for energy services contracts and large custom energy solutions

  • Utilize marketing theory and financial analysis to support proposals up to $50 million

  • Analyze and integrate new technologies into energy solutions including DSM, load management, distributed generation, and more

  • Direct communication with C-suite executives at both client and internal levels


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or technical field, or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, marketing, or utility engineering

  • Proven track record managing high-profile accounts

  • Advanced computer skills for research, presentations, and communication

Preferred Qualification:

  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification


Compensation & Benefits for Both Roles:

  • Competitive salaries ranging from $71,900 to $117,600 annually
