Description:
The main role of the Microbiology Lab Supervisor is to oversee and coordinate the activities of production and operating workers, ensuring smooth and efficient laboratory operations.
Responsibilities
- Implement measures to motivate employees and improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, and efficiency.
- Review operations and work with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing issues.
- Develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, and maintenance to identify production problems.
- Hire, train, evaluate, and manage staff, and resolve any personnel grievances.
- Set and monitor product standards to ensure high-quality finished products.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive production reports and personnel records.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a related field.
- 10+ years of microbiology/chemistry experience working in a CLIA certified or CAP accredited lab.
- 4-6+ years of leadership or people management experience. Proven leadership of teams with 30+ staff members
