The Laboratory Technician II provides technical support for research activities within the College of Nursing and Health Innovation. The position contributes to projects focused on bone-muscle cross-talk in the repair of musculoskeletal injuries, with an emphasis on implantable biomaterials and tissue engineering strategies that promote healing and regeneration in craniomaxillofacial injuries.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
 

  • Fabricate 2D and 3D biomaterials for in vitro and in vivo bone tissue engineering projects.
  • Assist in thin film and nanoparticle fabrication, characterization, and design for biological testing.
  • Perform in vitro and in vivo biological testing using tissue-forming cells.
  • Conduct biochemical, biomechanical, and biological assays to assess healing and tissue formation.
  • Maintain laboratory cleanliness, organization, and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Contribute to the preparation of reports, manuscripts, and presentations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
     

Minimum Qualifications
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Biomedical Science, or a related STEM field.
     

Preferred Qualifications
 

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Biomedical Science, or a related field.
  • Experience in in vitro cell culture and in vivo testing.
  • Experience with material synthesis and materials characterization.
