Wilson 5 Service Co. Inc., a reputable total facilities maintenance company operating since 1982, is seeking a skilled Lead Commercial Building HVAC Mechanic to join its union workforce in Omaha, NE. This role involves overseeing the maintenance, operation, and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems in commercial buildings, ensuring optimal building performance and occupant comfort.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of building operations, HVAC systems, and preventive maintenance practices, along with the ability to work independently and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on HVAC systems, including chillers, air handlers, and VAV boxes.

• Conduct daily operational tours and inspections of all relevant equipment and systems.

• Complete maintenance service requests, preventive maintenance tasks, and special projects in a timely and efficient manner.

• Service and operate environmental control systems to ensure consistent climate control.

• Maintain documentation for preventive maintenance and repairs.

• Assist with building maintenance and repair of architectural and structural components as required.

Qualifications & Job Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of experience within the past 5 years in building maintenance, repair, and operations.

• Strong knowledge of air handlers, chillers, and building operational systems.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Valid driver’s license required.

• Must pass a security background check.

Physical Demands:

• Frequently required to stand, walk, climb, kneel, crouch, crawl, and use hands for manual tasks.

• Must be able to lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.

• Requires good vision (close, distance, color, and depth perception).

Work Environment:

• Exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet or humid conditions, high places, fumes, chemicals, and outside weather conditions.

• Noise levels range from moderate to loud depending on the environment.
