Lead Montessori Preschool Teacher

Description:

Sunshine Montessori is seeking a passionate and motivated Preschool Lead Teacher experienced in Montessori education. The teacher will manage and oversee daily classroom activities and ensure compliance with Early Education and Care (EEC) policies and safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day classroom activities

• Develop and implement educational programs and curriculum tailored to individual and group student needs

• Assist and encourage students towards self-directed learning and normalization in the Montessori philosophy

• Maintain a neat, organized, and attractive classroom environment consistent with Montessori principles

• Conduct student assessments and keep records

• Provide leadership, guidance, and support to assistant and substitute teachers

• Welcome students and greet parents/caregivers

• Collaborate with teachers on curriculum development and scheduling

• Engage with parents and other stakeholders to support student success

• Conduct program evaluations to identify improvement areas

• Participate in training, meetings, and school events (open houses, parent nights, exhibitions)

• Maintain effective oral and written communication

• Stay current with education trends and research

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development, or a related field (required)

• Montessori Certification (required)

• EEC Lead Teacher Certification (required)

• 1-2 years of Lead Teacher experience (required)

• First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months of employment
