Are you a highly skilled Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with expertise in Python programming, automation testing, and cloud technologies? Our industry-leading client in the energy sector is seeking a dynamic professional to lead test automation efforts and drive quality assurance initiatives across multiple teams and business units.

Rate: $80 - $100 / hr. w2
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical direction and lead test automation strategy for microservices, integration, and regression testing.
- Develop and maintain automation frameworks for testing in AWS, Kafka, Kubernetes, and cloud-based environments.
- Conduct load testing, shell scripting, data integrity validation, and compliance testing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product owners, data engineers, and software developers to align technical solutions with business goals.
- Lead the design, build, test, and deployment of critical components while ensuring test-driven development (TDD) best practices.
- Assist with prioritizing and managing backlog items to ensure smooth software delivery.
- Perform impact analysis and risk assessment for design and implementation changes.
- Ensure data security, user access controls, and performance optimization in cloud environments.
Experience Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience as an SDET in a software development environment.
- Expertise in Python programming (must-have).
- Experience in test automation for microservices, integration, and regression testing.
- Hands-on experience with AWS tools & services (S3, EMR, Glue, Lambda, Athena, Kinesis, EC2, SNS, CloudWatch).
- Proficiency with Kafka, Kubernetes (k8s), and cloud-based automation testing.
- Load testing experience using JMeter or similar tools.
- Strong background in CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation).
- Familiarity with data analytics, ETL pipelines, and workflow automation.
- Experience working with big data platforms (Redshift, DocumentDB, DynamoDB, MongoDB).
