Lead Software Engineer

TalentAlly, on behalf of Capital One, is hiring a Lead Software Engineer (Full Stack) for its Enterprise Platforms Technology division based in Richmond, Virginia. This hybrid role offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of Capital One’s transformation journey in delivering secure, scalable, and intelligent technology solutions.

As a member of the Consumer Identity platform team, you will contribute to building a cutting-edge identity platform that supports seamless and secure digital interactions. The role focuses on the development and support of customer-facing web/mobile applications, RESTful services, streaming solutions, internal tools, and cloud-native infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to design, develop, test, and support full-stack software solutions.

• Apply innovative thinking and stay current with evolving technologies and engineering best practices.

• Build cloud-based platforms using Java, TypeScript, Python, Spring Boot, Angular, Docker, SQL/NoSQL, and AWS.

• Contribute to the transformation of Capital One’s identity systems into self-service, agile platforms.

• Mentor and support junior engineers while engaging in internal/external tech communities.

• Partner closely with product managers to develop robust solutions that serve millions of users.

Educational & Professional Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred).

• Minimum 4 years of professional experience in software engineering.

• At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

• Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures, container orchestration (e.g., Docker), and microservices.

• Proficient in Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, and working with SQL/NoSQL databases.

Preferred Skills:

• 7+ years of experience in Java, TypeScript, or Python.

• 3+ years of experience working with Amazon Web Services (AWS).

• Experience with open-source frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot, Angular).

• Demonstrated expertise in Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.

• Experience in building enterprise-grade identity platforms or large-scale applications.

Compensation Details (for Richmond, VA):

• Annual salary range: $175800 – $200700

• Equivalent monthly salary: $14650 – $16725

• Eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, including bonuses and long-term incentives.
