Description:
The Lead, Systems Engineering, will be a senior member and of a team accountable for the uptime and management of all SPE Global Enterprise Server Infrastructure.
The Lead, Systems Engineering, is responsible for analysis, design, and development of enterprise systems and senior level technical expert for production of the Sony Pictures Entertainment Global Server Technology environment. This position has a strong emphasis on enterprise system analysis, design, architectures and project management.
This position requires an emphasis on problem management, project management as well as building and maintaining positive business relationships with the IT Organizations, clients and vendors. Fulfillment of responsibilities must be performed with a minimum to no supervision.
Responsibilities
- Senior team member on a team of Global Server Technology Team.
- Perform installations and configurations of multiple virtualization technologies and Operating Systems (i.e., Windows, Linux, etc.)
- Establish standards for server hardware and operating systems.
- Establish server usage policies and communicate policies to affected audience(s).
- Develop performance management procedures for server infrastructure.
- Manage and maintain server resources, globally, throughout the enterprise.
- Manage IT Staff relationships to insure service levels and availability of all servers.
- Manage outages, identify root cause and resolve all server issues within allowed service levels.

- Participate in the daily production meeting to report the status of production systems.
- Participate in the change control, production acceptance and event management processes.
- Participate in the development of operational procedures and policies.
- Participate in the development of a viable, cost-effective disaster recovery capability.
- Develop report monthly statistics and progress against internal and external service levels.
- Manage Server capacity and provide server utilization statistics to the capacity planner.
- Provide oral and written status reports to IT management and customers
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years employment in the IT industry working with a major systems and vendors.
- Minimum 5 years experience in deploying, managing and maintaining Cloud Services on one or more of the 3 major CSPs (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Minimum 5 years experience as an Intel and/or x86 systems administrator.
- Minimum 8 years experience with Windows and Linux operating system required.
- Minimum 3 years experience with Virtualization OS (VMWare, Power VM, Oracle VM) required.
- Minimum 3 years experience with multi-tiered application development required.
