Vetco Total Care, a division of Petco Animal Supplies Stores, Inc., is currently hiring a Lead Veterinarian (Hospital Medical Leader) for its veterinary hospital located in New York, NY. This is a full-time, on-site leadership role ideal for an experienced veterinarian ready to take on both clinical and administrative responsibilities within a dynamic and growing veterinary healthcare environment.

As the Lead Veterinarian, you will serve as the Hospital Medical Leader, guiding and overseeing all aspects of the hospital’s medical services and patient care. You will collaborate closely with a team of veterinary professionals, technicians, and support staff to deliver high-quality, compassionate veterinary care. This role includes not only hands-on clinical responsibilities but also strategic involvement in driving hospital performance, mentoring staff, and ensuring compliance with all applicable veterinary regulations and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the veterinary hospital team to deliver exceptional medical services to companion animals.

• Provide preventive care, diagnostics, treatments, and surgical procedures as needed.

• Oversee the hospital’s medical operations including quality assurance and compliance with state veterinary laws.

• Act as a mentor and resource for associate veterinarians and veterinary technicians.

• Develop and implement hospital protocols and practices to maintain clinical excellence.

• Partner with Petco's leadership to manage hospital growth, performance metrics, and community outreach efforts.

Requirements:

• Active New York State Veterinary License without contingencies or the ability to obtain one by the start date.

• Strong clinical competency in both routine and emergency veterinary care.

• Demonstrated leadership capabilities or prior experience in a hospital leadership/management role preferred.

• Excellent communication, decision-making, and organizational skills.

• A compassionate approach to animal care and a strong commitment to client service.

Salary & Compensation:
The annual salary for this role ranges from $137280 to $219440, depending on location and experience, which translates to approximately $11440 to $18286 per month. Additional compensation may be provided based on the candidate’s qualifications and responsibilities.
