We are seeking an experienced and passionate Lead Veterinarian to join our Healthcare Practice Team in Boynton Beach, FL. As a Lead Veterinarian, you will serve as both a clinical expert and a team leader—guiding associate veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to deliver best-in-class patient care. You will play an instrumental role in building a positive, collaborative workplace culture that prioritizes both pet health and employee well-being.


Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of veterinarians, technicians, and assistants to deliver superior patient care.

  • Provide coaching, performance feedback, and guidance to improve clinical and operational outcomes.

  • Ensure smooth implementation of Chewy Vet Care protocols, policies, and medical standards.

  • Promote teamwork, communication, and a positive work culture aligned with Chewy’s mission and values.

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive physical examinations, diagnostics, surgeries, dental care, and advanced medical procedures.

  • Manage complex cases requiring specialized care, utilizing the latest techniques and equipment.

  • Develop accurate treatment plans and communicate diagnoses and procedures clearly to pet parents.

  • Maintain detailed and compliant medical records, ensuring accurate documentation across all cases.

  • Stay current with new medical advancements through continuing education and professional development.

Operational Excellence:

  • Oversee practice operations, safety, and compliance with applicable veterinary laws and internal policies.

  • Collaborate with the management team to ensure efficient workflows, inventory management, and quality assurance.

  • Ensure exceptional client satisfaction by maintaining a compassionate, educational, and professional client experience.

  • May occasionally be required to travel to support other Chewy Vet Care locations or attend professional events.


Qualifications and Experience:

Education:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) or an equivalent degree from an accredited institution.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Active and valid State Veterinary License in good standing.

  • DEA license and other relevant state credentials as required.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in general veterinary practice, including surgery and diagnostics.

  • 1–3 years of leadership or management experience in a veterinary setting.

  • Experience working with veterinary radiation machines preferred.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to multitask and perform effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
